CrossFit Inc CEO Resigns
Jeff Cain, the CEO of CrossFit Inc. has resigned, effective 1st September
2019. Cain took over from CrossFit Founder and Chairman Greg Glassman
back in 2017. He's the latest in a string of high-profile resignations, with the COO (Chief Operating Officer) and CTO (Chief Technology Officer) resigning in the past few months. So far, no official reasons have been given for Mr Cain's decision to step down and anything in the press is only speculation.
Mr Cain has be instrumental in implementing some very big changes to CrossFit in his two year reign. He removed the Regionals and replaced them with the Sanctionals, created official licensed CrossFit events, pulled CrossFit from Facebook and Instagram and introduced big changes to the format of the CrossFit Games.
Word is that CrossFit Inc. will not be looking for replacement CEO. The assumption is that Glassman will take a more hands on role as Chairman. It's likely that Cain's vision for the company clashed in some way with Glassman's and he got the boot. Glassman is notorious for being reluctant to relinquish control of the company and it's likely that he'll continue to shape it in his image in the immediate future.
